BJP silenced by its own members

Few days back, BJP members were all happy to get Natwar Singh removed from all his posts one after another (External Affairs Ministry, Cabinet Minister & Member of Congress Working Committee). Before they started intensifying their demands on the resignation of Sonia Gandhi, the news of the sting-operation by Cobrapost was out. BJP occupied the top slot having the most number of MPs caught taking bribe. BJP leaders couldn't speak out any further on Volcker report although MPs from other parties were also caught in the sting-operation. So now, the BJP party is pushed to the defensive mode!

This is not to mean that other parties are better. But the BJP leaders should look at their own Bangaru Laxman before making the issue out of Volcker report. And they should rather do more to provide constructive feedbacks to the discussions conducted in Parliament that are of national interest. Well, one could argue that these MPs are unfortunate because there are supposedly even more bigger crimes by the poiticians. But we have got a proof here in this case and these MPs should rather abdicate all their powers themselves. When everyone was expecting these MPs would be expelled without any protests, it was suprising to see some members from BJP & other parties have come out and said those MPs haven't committed a bigger crime to be expelled from the parliamentary houses! I don't know what do they think of the common man who voted them to power and watching all these activities.

What do you think we can do? When everyone wants to go earn the green bucks, come back and build a bungalow in the city outskirts and retire. Who will come forward to step in the ditch to clean it?

Corruption anywhere is deep-rooted. Now that they are expelled, am pretty sure they'll be back to fight the next elections and who knows, they might win them too.

They should actually be stripped of their voting rights and hence from elections. Be it a fodder-scam or the query-for-money scam, corruption must be handed the same punishment.

The clean-up should start from the lowest levels and then to the hierarchy. ok..enough of it..am getting cooked up. Lets be practical. Lets get corrupted !

redi, cleaning the system from the lowest levels! how do you think this is practical? what you are talking is revolution. Revolution doesn't happen just like that and it doesn't occur as we dream. do you think the grass-root workers would simply keep watching their leaders taking the bribes and living luxuriously?

So where do you start? The top-brass are the most powerful and would have come a long way in stink. Changing them is next to impossible. They would be even more hungry for money.

Also, you too need to get corrupted to start with. To permeate into the stink and then start what you want to do. There just CANNOT be "I-DO-MY-WORK-HONESTLY. LET-ME-DO-IT. LEAVE-ME-ALONE". Its all sewed up. You need to remove one string at time initially. Then half-way through, the cloth can be torn easily.

Well, the corruption be there. It's everywhere. I'm bothered about the statements from the former home minister. Not just from him though. I'm concerned about what happens when the corruption comes to light. If one comes to know of a corruption and has enough proof and the wherewithal to bring it to the public, everyone should appreciate it whatever be the size of the corruption. People shouldn't claim they haven't done too much to get the punishment. This is my point. I'm not speaking about cleaning the corruption.

But redi, tamil movie Saamy has inspired your writing a lot. :)
